Process

I don't start in Figma. I start with your users, your numbers and the real problem, and I bring an AI teammate to every step so you get senior thinking at startup speed.

The journey

Six steps, three phases.

Each step says what I do, how AI helps and what you walk away with. Scroll through, or jump to a step.

Understand · Day 1

Discover

We start with your users, your numbers and your business model. No screens yet, just the real problem.

I do
  • Run stakeholder and user interviews
  • Decide which problem is worth solving
  • Set success metrics with you
AI helps
  • Scans competitors and market patterns
  • Summarises interviews into themes
  • Drafts research questions to test
You getProblem statementResearch summarySuccess metrics
Understand · Day 2

Define

Personas, journeys and priorities, so everyone agrees on who we design for and what matters first.

I do
  • Shape personas from real evidence
  • Prioritise features with you
  • Write the product principles
AI helps
  • Clusters findings and pain points
  • Generates journey-map drafts
  • Stress-tests assumptions
You getPersonasJourney mapPrioritised scope
Simplify · Day 3

Structure

Information architecture and user flows that remove complexity, especially in data-heavy, multi-role products.

I do
  • Design the IA and navigation
  • Choose the simplest flow for each task
  • Review flows with your team
AI helps
  • Explores many flow variations fast
  • Spots dead ends and edge cases
  • Drafts microcopy options
You getSitemap / IAUser flowsEdge-case list
Simplify · Day 4–5

Wireframe

Low-fidelity layouts to test hierarchy and flows before a single colour is chosen.

I do
  • Sketch layouts and hierarchy
  • Test with users or stakeholders
  • Decide what stays and what goes
AI helps
  • Generates layout alternatives
  • Fills realistic content and data
  • Summarises test feedback
You getWireframesClickable prototypeTest notes
Build · Day 6–10

Design

Polished UI on a scalable design system, iterated in short daily loops with your feedback.

I do
  • Craft the visual language and UI
  • Build the design system and components
  • Check accessibility and consistency
AI helps
  • Audits contrast and spacing
  • Checks components for inconsistencies
  • Speeds up variants and states
You getHi-fi UIDesign systemInteractive prototype
Build · Day 10+

Ship

Clean handoff and support while your engineers build, so what ships matches what we designed.

I do
  • Walk developers through every flow
  • Review builds against the design
  • Plan the next iteration with you
AI helps
  • Generates specs and documentation
  • Drafts QA checklists
  • Tracks design debt
You getDev-ready FigmaSpecs & docsDesign QA
Who does what

AI speeds it up. People decide.

AI never ships anything on its own. It explores, drafts and checks, and every decision that touches your users goes through me, and through you.

Ways to work together

Pick the shape that fits your stage.

Every engagement follows the same process. What changes is how much of it you need.

FAQ

Good questions to ask a designer.

Something else on your mind? Ask it in the brief, I'll answer in my reply.

Yes. Confidential material stays out of public AI tools unless you agree to it, and I am happy to sign an NDA before we start.

You do. Once the project is paid, all Figma files, assets and the design system are yours.

Yes. I join your stand-ups or reviews when needed, hand off dev-ready files and review builds until they match the design.

Both. Every project starts with understanding users and the business. If you already have research, we build on it.

Quick daily updates on WhatsApp, Slack or email, a short call when it helps, and Figma comments for feedback.

That works too. We skip or shorten the early steps and start from a quick audit of what you have.
